Spectrum Analyzer adalah alat ukur signal transmisi yaitu memudahkan seorang teknisi dalam menentukan apakah antena sudah mengarah ke satelit yang benar.  Spectrum analyzer dapat menunjukkan pola signal yang diterima,  sehingga  kita bisa membuat acuan (refferensi) untuk setiap satelit yang ada,  mengarahkan antena ke satelit yang benar dikarenakan letak orbit satelit di angkasa sangat berdekatan, oleh karena itu kita memerlukan Spectrum Analyzer untuk memonitor signal yang diterima.

Disamping itu juga Spectrum Analyzer berfungsi untuk pengetesan performa alat transmisi satelit dan quality & control, misalnya untuk mengukur Gain Flatness (Kerataan Gain), Intermodulasi Product (Kondisi dimana sebuah ODU mengconversi 2 signal input), Spourius (Noise yang dihasilkan pada saat penguatan signal).
